With great sadness, we announce the death of the first Honorary President at SBS Swiss Business School, Dr. Charles Mercieca.
Dr. Mercieca was our Honorary President from 2001 until 2011. He was born in Hamrun, Malta, and worked for 34 years as a Professor of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Educational Administration for Alabama A & M University. Dr. Mercieca also founded the International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP), a non-profit NGO, in 1969. The aim is to promote world peace and safeguard human rights.
We learned a lot from Dr. Mercieca. He was a polyglot, well-traveled, and understood the value of humor. He was a man with a world vision and always ready to take you for a brisk walk. We miss you Charly! We send our profound condolences to his family.
