Thomas Signer completed undergraduate and graduate studies in the United States, concluding them with a Master of Science degree in Industrial Administration (MSc) at Carnegie Mellon University in 1990. Following business school, he worked in investment banking for Nomura Securities in New York and Morgan Stanley in London. In 1998 Mr. Signer returned to his native Switzerland to start his own finance consultancy.

Since he has acted as an expert witness in over forty finance litigation cases and testified before Swiss courts, the UK High Court and FINRA in the US. From the start of his consultancy, Mr. Signer’s research interest has focused on how demographic change impacts financial markets and society at large.

He published two books and a book chapter on the topic and shares his insights with a diverse consulting clientele. He is on the board of two Swiss charitable foundations.
