Dr. Haleama Al Sabbah completed her Ph.D. in Public Health Nutrition (Ph.D. in Medical Sciences) in 2008 at the Faculty of Medicine, Gent University, Belgium. She received a doctoral scholarship from Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC). Dr. Al Sabbah had the opportunity for a Fulbright Senior Visiting Scholar and conducted Post-doctoral studies in Public Health and Nutrition at Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Center, Tufts University, Boston, USA. During her Post-doctorate period, she was appointed as a consultant for Global Food and Nutrition Inc. (GF&N), USA.
Dr. Al Sabbah’s first degree is Public Health Nutrition from the Faculty of Medicine, Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 1990. She worked as a nutritionist at several hospitals in Amman, Jordan and then at Amman University. From 1995 to 1998, she worked at the Red Crescent Society Maternity Hospital in Ramallah, Palestine. In 1997, a scholarship was awarded for Advanced Diploma in Primary Health Care at the Community Health Institute, Birzeit University, Palestine. In 1998, a scholarship was awarded for a Master of Philosophy in International Community Health and Nutrition in the Faculty of Medicine at Oslo University, Norway.
