Dr. Kristopher Floyd

Dr. Kristopher Floyd is a seasoned educator, researcher, and academic with a broad background in marketing, communication, and education.
Dr. Floyd earned his Ph.D. in Marketing, with a minor in Business Statistics, from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has received numerous teaching and research awards, including the Sheth Doctoral Consortium Fellowship and the Ph.D. Research and Teaching Awards. He also holds an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from the same university and a B.A. in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University.
His academic career includes faculty positions at Chapman University and California Baptist University, where he taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. His teaching philosophy combines academic rigor with practical application, fostering critical thinking and creativity in students.
Dr. Floyd’s research focuses on topics at the intersection of marketing communications, prosocial behavior, and digital engagement. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Philanthropy and Marketing, and the International Review on Public and Nonprofit Marketing. He also actively reviews for multiple academic conferences and journals.
Before entering academia, Dr. Floyd worked in financial services and marketing, and he began his career as an elementary school teacher. This diverse background informs his interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching.
His current projects include studies on AI perceptions across cultures, CMO tenure and firm performance, and the role of anthropomorphism in marketing technologies.
