Dr. Čakrt attended New York University in New York during the 1960s, and graduated with a degree in sociology and economy from the Charles University in Prague. After that he worked as a research fellow in the Urban Transportation Institute and Mechanical Engineering and Technology and Economy Institute.

After 1989 he made his living as management consultant and professor at the CMC Graduate School of Business. After concluding his education at the Graduate School of Management at Harvard University, he worked as a manager for Deloitte & Touche, taught in the MBA programs at the University of California at Irvine, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Calgary, Zagreb University, IEDC Bled and other prestigious schools. Dr. Čakrt is the author of five books for managers, as well as the general public, and publishes in the area of managerial psychology and sociology, organizational behavior, design and change both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
