After graduating from ESADE with his BBA and MBA degrees, Ignacio developed his professional career in the marketing departments of some of the most renowned FMCG multinationals. Thus, becoming a successful top manager in the areas of Strategy, Sales & Marketing, Innovation, Product Design, and Business Development. Founded several startups. Since 2008, he also works as a freelance consultant in Strategic Management projects and as a collaborator of Buenaidea in many Innovation projects (SEAT-VW Group, among others).
While concurrently pursuing his professional career, Ignacio completed postgraduate studies in Social Anthropology at the Universitat de Barcelona. He received a pre-doctoral research fellowship from the International Catalan Institute for Peace to complete the Ph.D. program in Advanced Studies in Social Anthropology. After living for three years in Southern Mexico, he finished his Ph.D. with the multi-awarded dissertation `Chained Communities: An Analysis of the Political Culture of Depotism in a District of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Besides teaching in diverse universities in Spain, he is a published author of three books and several academic journal articles.
