Dr. Erdal Atukeren

Erdal Atukeren received a double major BA degree in economics and business administration from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul (Türkiye) in 1986. He obtained an MA degree in econometrics from Istanbul University (1988), and MA and PhD degrees in economics from the University of Ottawa (1990, 1995).

Dr. Atukeren worked as an emerging markets research economist and senior country credit and risk analyst at Union Bank of Switzerland / UBS AG in Zurich between 1995 -1999. In 2000, he moved to ETH Zurich and worked as a senior researcher at KOF Swiss Economic Institute until May 2013. Dr. Atukeren was awarded the title of “Associate Professor of Econometrics” by the Higher Education Council (ÜAK-YÖK) in Turkey in 2009.

Dr. Atukeren has published numerous articles in economics and business journals and presented his work at international conferences. He is an Editorial Board member of the Journal International Trade and Economic Development, International Journal of Sustainable Economy, and Investment Management and Financial Innovations. Dr. Atukeren was recognized as a “Global Top 1% Peer Reviewer” by Publons / Web of Science in 2019 in the fields of Cross-Field Research and Environment and Ecology.

Dr. Atukeren taught courses at the University of Ottawa (1993-1995), Boğaziçi University (Summer School, 2007) and at the SBS Swiss Business School (2008 – present). His research and teaching interests include applied econometrics and time series analysis, research methods, macroeconomics, energy economics, international economics, economics of art markets, managerial/business economics, and sustainability.

Dr. Atukeren believes in continuing education, and he has obtained a B.A. degree in Sociology (2018), Associate of Arts (A.A) degree in Web Design and Coding (2020), and Associate of Arts (A.A) degree in Photography and Camera Operation (2021) from Anadolu University (Faculty of Open Education) in Turkey.
