The SBS Swiss Business School’s 2015 Summer Program in International Finance and Banking, which ran from 6-17 July 2015, was again, a wonderful experience for both the participants and their instructors. With students from Brazil, South Africa, the USA, Bulgaria, India, France, Italy and of course Switzerland as well, the program covered topics related to Finance and Banking, including Corporate Finance, Wealth Management, Insurance, Risk Management, Private Equity and Venture Capital, Mergers and Acquisitions, and much more.
But it wasn’t all study; the students also had the opportunity to visit the century-old UBS branch on Bahnhofstrasse in downtown Zurich. Once again, UBS, Switzerland’s largest bank, very generously provided a tour of the historical building and followed with a short presentation and Q&A session hosted by the branch manager, Mr. Fritz Kunz. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to have their questions answered by someone as knowledgeable and informed as Mr. Kunz. Additionally, there was an informative and interesting walking tour through Zurich’s old quarter, with fascinating stories and anecdotes around every corner and under every cobblestone.
In the end, the students commented how much they had enjoyed the intensive, 2-week program, the knowledgeable instructors, their classmates, and also their newly-expanded view of International Finance and Banking.
We look forward to hearing great things from the participants as they continue on their academic journeys, or branch out into the exciting industry of banking or financial services and are happy to have had a part in the education of these bright, young minds.
