On 27 August 2016, SBS Swiss Business School and Banku Augstskola School of Business and Finance celebrated their 10-year anniversary of academic cooperation and partnership in Jurmala, Latvia. In attendance were faculty from both Switzerland and Latvia, as well as alumni from the dual degree program. Also present was, a representative from the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science who presented certificates of recognition to Prof. Dr. Andris Sarnovics, Rector of BA School of Business and Finance, Dr. Liga Peiseniece, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Bert Wolfs, Academic Dean at SBS Swiss Business School and Ms. Marijana Karanfiloska, Vice President for Business Development, for their invaluable contribution in the field of higher education.
Throughout the evening, and over a delicious dinner, guests were entertained by the lovely voice of Diana Pirags with the band Chocolad. Other performers including the contortionist and dancer Katrina Asfardi, and the magician Juris Gavrilovs captivated the audience at 36 Line Restaurant.
Against the backdrop of a stunning Jurmala sunset, guests and participants shared some words, thoughts and memories on their time in the program and appreciation for the faculty and staff of SBS and BA. There was even a musical performance by one of our very talented alumnus. In the end, it was a wonderful event to look back on and commemorate a decade of successful cooperation and partnership between SBS and BA, and an exciting opportunity to look forward to the new heights that will be achieved though their continued pursuit of educational excellence.
