The previous week, in order to promote the Masters program “International Finance and Banking” which is carried out collaboratively by the BA School of Business and Finance and SBS Swiss Business School, the event “Swiss Finance Week” took place in Riga under the topic “Green and Social Finance”. The series of public lectures was attended by more than 70 participants from various Latvian universities. Together with the lectures, there was also a student’s competition for “green” and socially responsible investment ideas. We congratulate the winners:
1st place – “Granny’s Green Fasties” – Organic Fast Food Restaurant – Ilona Skribiņa, Jekaterina Andreimane, Dmitrijs Kozlovs
2nd place- “Masterpiece”- Green Community Concept – Aleksandrs Rogovs, Irina Pētersone, Margarita Ozola
3rd place – “3A” Egreeno – Energy saving switch – Alīna Aleksandrova, Anna Korčagina, Anita Nebo
Lectures were given by, both lecturers from SBS Swiss Business school – Dr. Bert Wolfs, Dr.Sudhindra Bhat, Dr.Carl-Gustaf Malmstroem, Thomas Signer and lecturers from the BA School of Business and Finance – Brigita Baltača, Tatjana Mavrenko, Dita Danosa, Elchin Jafarov, Kristaps Lešinskis. The special guest – Urs Bühler, Counsellor Deputy Head of Mission, Swiss Embassy in Latvia. This was the second “Swiss Finance Week” event and the next one is already scheduled for the year 2012!
