This course – together with Principles of Finance I – is designed to be an introductory course in corporate finance. It analyzes the three broad areas of financial decision problems faced by modern corporations, viz. the investment decision (capital budgeting), the financing decision (capital structure) and the payout decision.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discuss calculation and interpretation of returns, volatilities and risk premiums
  • Develop the SML and WACC – approach
  • Analyze how to raise capital and the financial leverage
  • Discuss the factors considered by financial managers in setting dividend policy
  • Cover the short-term financial management
  • Show how risks can be managed
