This course provides an overview of managerial statistics and the statistics needed for hypothesis testing. Managerial statistics includes an overview of measures of central tendency, distribution, probability, forecasting and the graphical portrayal of data.  The second half of the course focuses on the statistical analysis techniques needed for hypothesis testing in the classroom and for the final thesis.

Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Distinguish between descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Describe the measures of central tendency
  • Describe distributions
  • Prepare and describe graphical tools
  • Discuss probability rules and utilize them in a business environment
  • Describe and utilize computational and statistical forecasting techniques
  • Describe and discuss hypothesis testing techniques
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using MS Excel for statistical purposes
